My journey into the world of massage is rooted in a lifelong passion for movement and the human body. From a young age, I was immersed in the realm of competitive sports as a gymnast which helped me cultivate an intuitive understanding of the demands we place on our bodies.
These early experiences as an athlete have given me valuable insights into the physical and mental challenges of high-performance activities as well as the toll of the everyday. After being diagnosed with a chronic illness post-sport, I witnessed firsthand the impact that chronic conditions can have on the body and mind. As a result I have developed deep levels of empathy and understanding which enable me to tailor sessions to help address the unique needs of each client, promoting healing, relaxation and overall well-being.
Transitioning from the athletic world, I discovered another dimension of movement and expression as a costume designer for performers and dancers. In this line of work, my eyes for detail helped enhance comfort and mobility for the bodies wearing my clothes and allowed me to appreciate the nuances of body mechanics and movement.
As a massage therapist I am able to combine my diverse background with a compassionate touch where I aim to create an environment where clients can reconnect with their bodies. Gaining a qualification in Sports Therapy has allowed me to continue developing my practice and I hope to go on to study physiotherapy. I currently work with Kilsyth Rangers football Club providing therapy and first aid and volunteer with the Butterfly Trust, a Cystic Fibrosis Charity. I love being outdoors, practicing yoga and an over-all believer in the power of movement!
